Guide to Listening Recommendations
You may be looking at the music recommendations list and wondering where to start. There are a lot of pieces! Here are a few ways to start:
Pieces you may know
If you are new to classical music, this is a good place to start. Each page on music history has a list of the most famous pieces from the time period. Once you find something you like, you can move on to the next step. Click on any of the following articles to find pieces you may know:
Browse by Composer
If you already know a composer that you like, find the composer and listen to other pieces by them. If you like a particular composer, a tip to find other music you may like is to listen to composers from the same time period. For example, if you like Chopin’s music, look for another composer from the same time period such as Liszt or Brahms. If you don’t know what time period a composer belongs to, type the composer’s name in the search bar at the top of any page.
